The Spark

The Spark is a leading provider of couples counselling, marriage counselling, individual counselling and family counselling in Scotland.

Headquartered in Glasgow our network of 17 counselling centres delivers a range of relationship counselling and support services.

Established in 1965, The Spark has been supporting individuals, couples and families dealing with challenging relationships. As the nature of relationship support has changed so has The Spark. We are now the foremost provider of relationship education and counselling for young people in primary, secondary and post-school environments.

The Spark is a well-respected training provider offering entry-level training in mental health to fully-accredited advanced teaching in counselling to diploma level. Our Glasgow training centre also provides the perfect location for all types of corporate event for companies, charities and other training bodies. Available for training room hire, conference room hire and meeting room hire, the highly-flexible suite of rooms with free Wi-Fi is ideal for small events, team meetings, AGMs, training sessions and workshops.

The Spark continually seeks the highest professional and clinical standards and we are recognised by Counselling and Psychotherapy in Scotland (COSCA).

Relationship education and training

This is complemented by an extensive range of professional training and education programmes provided by The Spark.

Programmes are available for individuals as well as private, public and third sector organisations. Courses range from introductory Relationship First Aid programmes through to Masters qualifications in relationship counselling.

The Spark’s training centre in Glasgow – located just a few minutes walk from Central Station – is a versatile space available to all types of organisation for one-off or long-term hire. The centre comprises meeting rooms, a conference suite and individual counselling/one-to-one meeting rooms ideal for small and medium-sized events.

Protecting the rights of children

In delivering services for children and young people The Spark is fully-committed to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).
