Our programmes are mapped to the Curriculum for Excellence Health and Wellbeing experiences and outcomes
Primary school programmes and counselling
The Spark’s Primary school programmes and school-based counselling are fundamentally based on our belief in the value of early intervention. The most effective way to support children’s health and wellbeing is by helping them develop essential resilience skills.
A child’s ability to cope when life, family, friends or school experiences become challenging is fundamental in making them effective contributors to society.
This is one of the core aims of The Spark’s Children and Young People Team (CYP) and drives our school-based counselling and relationship education programmes.
Maximising life opportunities for children
Whether as part of counselling or relationship education programmes, our aim is to empower children to maximise their life opportunities. Recent projects have tackled issues as diverse as cyber bullying, violence, sectarianism and emotional health.
Raising Attainment and the Curriculum for Excellence
Projects undertaken by the CYP Team make a direct contribution to the Scottish Government’s Raising Attainment strategy. They also contribute to the creation of a Best Start in Life environment for Primary school children.
Our services are mapped to the Curriculum for Excellence Health and Wellbeing Experiences and Outcomes and SHANARRI indicators. We, like you, are committed to ensuring that collectively we Get It Right for Every Child and all children and young people are supported to achieve their potential.
News: Scotland’s Deputy First Minister hails the “positive impact” of The Spark’s school-based counselling services.
